In association with the Schizophrenia Fellowship of NSW and Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia, the ASC2010 conference will include a free public forum on schizophrenia and psychosis.

Theme & Purpose of Forum
The theme of the forum will be: Has research been of benefit to people with schizophrenia? The forum aims to provide an opportunity for the general public to hear about developments in schizophrenia research and whether these have made a difference to the lives of people with schizophrenia.
Speakers
The Forum will contain a number of presentations from local and international researchers, consumers and carers with a panel Q&A to follow. To date we have confirmed the following speakers:
- Prof. Patrick McGorry (Orygen Youth Health Research Centre; 2010 Australian of the Year)
- Prof. Vaughan Carr (Schizophrenia Research Institute & University of NSW)
- Prof. David Penn (University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, USA)
- Prof. Cyndi Shannon Weickert (Macquarie Group Foundation Chair of Schizophrenia Research)
- Mr Richard Schweizer (Patient Ambassador, Schizophrenia Research Institute)
- Ms Elaine Goddard (Remind Carer Educator, Schizophrenia Fellowship of NSW)

Attendance at the Forum is free.
